I am happy to be sitting here right now drinking Honeybush tea – today was a busy one. I didn’t sleep too well last night and that always sucks (Yiddish wisdom says “a sleepless night is the worst punishment”). I was thinking too much. Fortunately, my brain shut off at some point and I got some sleep. The good news is I will probably fall asleep right away tonight.
The morning was relatively normal, some reading and con law from 11-12:15. Then it started to get hectic. I went to work out at Arrillaga (my second home) right after class, returned to the law school for a brief journal meeting at 1, and then went back to the gym to wrap up the workout. Today I did back muscles, some legs, and a ton of abs (yes, the six pack, coming into gear).
After the workout, I prepped for Antitrust and then went to my first interview of the day with Oracle at 2:50. I think the interview went really well, but who knows… Antitrust class followed from 3:45 to 5:25 and then the second interview of the day with Orrick was at 6:10. I think this interview went well too, but it is very very selective for 1st year law students (known as 1Ls). For instance, at three of the four firms I am interviewing in the Spring on-campus program are only hiring one first year. With at least 10 people interviewing for each firm, I am not getting my hopes up too high. Nonetheless, I am still sure it will pan out one way or another. 2Ls and 3Ls (second and third year law students) stress that the fall interview program for the 2L summer is cake as far as getting offers and the job of your choice, so it only gets easier from here!
I am pumped for my last interview, which will be with Microsoft, on Wednesday. Microsoft would be the idyllic job for me. Among other things, it is located about 10 minutes from my home in Sammamish, WA!
