I have become quite the fan of tea the past year. For some reason, I never drank tea all my life. Then, it all changed one cold day in Sammamish. The house was freezing as usual and I wondered if drinking tea like my mom would help me get warm. I tried the green tea and loved it, and it warmed me up! The rest is history as far as daily tea consumption.
My tea habits were one dimensional until I was enlightened by my sister, Talli, about the wide world of teas. I tried Honeybush tea at her house and it was love at first taste! Honeybush, coined the “Nectar of Nature”, is a type of tea plant indigenous to the mountainous region in the Cape of South Africa (photo of the bush to the left). It is packed with anti-oxidants, is caffeine free, and tastes oh so delicious.
I am generally not a black tea fan and I don’t like the European style teas like Chamomile and Peppermint, but I have expanded my tea repertoire to include Rooibus (red tea) and White tea as well. Both are high in antioxidants and excellent beverages.
Hmmm, I think I need a reload on this Honeybush…
