It’s Tuesday = busy. Lots of class, but I engage myself as much as possible to make time pass. Actually, all my classes were interesting today; con law, antitrust, and law, technology and privacy. In antitrust there was a pretty good discussion about monopolies having exclusionary effects. I tend to look at these cases from the consumer perspective and I feel that the market may not always solve all anticompetitive behavior. Thus, I think regulation and enforcement of the regulations is important. In privacy class, we continue to grapple with difficult issues, but I find myself being able to forgo some privacy if it involves national security. On the other hand, if it privacy is intruded for commercial reasons (or no good reason), I think there should be unambiguous and structured privacy laws with stiff penalties (that will hopefully deter such activity). It all comes down to a balancing of reasonableness – like so much of the law!!
At Arrillaga gym I hit the EFX elliptical for 46 quality minutes. That machine really makes me sweat. It is the most efficient workout for me. No weights today – it is important to take at least one day off a week.
Happy birthday to my sister today! I will be heading over there on Friday for a celebration which should be fun and tasty (good food :). Then, I fly home on Saturday for some skiing, movie watching, and just resting at home. I read an article about how the ski resorts in Washington are staying open for longer this year due to the copious amounts of snow this year. I can’t wait to enjoy some of that powder!
