Today Mark and I turned in our draft of the appellate brief for legal research and writing. It’s great to be done with it for a little while. I think we did a great job.
Con law in the morning was good, I got to be Justice Holmes in Lochner v. New York and the Professor asked me if I was going to be litigator because it seems like I enjoy arguing. I wasn’t thinking about litigation and the romanticism of strutting in a court room, but maybe it’s my calling? I am confused now. I know I would be a good advocate for any client in a trial, but I also like the business aspect of corporate law and working with emerging companies. What do you think?
Today I hit the gym for some back exercises and some leg work. It was fun as usual. Antitrust was also a fun class today – we started talking about mergers. I just read a case about Staples wanting to acquire Office Depot but failed. I think it was a good call. If the merger was ok’d, they’d definitely raise the prices in the long run.
Now, I have some reading to do (I bet you already knew that 😉 and then I am going to hit the sack and hopefully motivate myself to get the cardio out of the way early tomorrow morning. I have an hour long meeting at 1 pm with LRW to discuss my brief and then a full schedule till 8:15, so I better get up and do it!
