Yesterday was super busy – as all Tuesdays are. Con law in the morning and then a meeting with the LRW instructor to dissect my appellate brief. There are so many marks on it and so many changes to make! Antitrust followed in the afternoon and the law, technology and privacy to round out the evening. I hit the gym for 6.25 miles in 42 minutes on the treadmill and then just ate dinner, read property, and went to bed.
Today was the normal property in the morning and con law before lunch. I got called out on the fact I copied the supplement to the casebook instead of buying it. I kinda feel bad, but it was $17 for a 40 page supplement! That is a bit ridiculous so I feel a little justified, but I did not want to take away from the time and effort that my prof put into writing the casebook. Con law is my favorite class of the core first year courses I have taken, mainly because of the casebook and the excellent teaching.
I hit the gym today for the bench and some leg work. I was going to do cardio, but got their too late and I didn’t feel like waiting in line for a machine. I got to be more disciplined and get their when I don’t have to deal with the crowd. I hit my usual chest routine with no problem. 150 pounds of 10 reps on the bench, cable cross-overs, dumbells, biceps, lots of abs, and some leg weights. Overall, it was a good workout.
I went to a firm reception at Zibibbo this evening, a mediterranean restaurant in Palo Alto. The firm was Kirkland and Ellis and it sounded like a great place to work. I will def interview there in the fall. The finger food became a meal and the wine was tasty! It was fun talking to attorneys and I learned about some other firms to avoid. I def not the type to stay very long in a sweatshop firm. It’s better for me just to not start at those places. Quality of life is the most important thing to me. 2700 hours a year in an office is not going to cut it for me. In fact, I’d take a pay cut to be able to enjoy myself and keep the hobbies going. Life is to short to live it all work and no play!
I’ve already got property reading done for the evening, but I am going to try and jump ahead and start outlining some of my courses and then go to bed.
Thanks for sharing this information. Really is pack with new knowledge. Keep them coming.
