Portola Valley Ranch

Another great find today for trail running – the Portola Valley Ranch! I ran for 74 minutes (~11 miles) on some sweet single track in oak forests and grasslands. It’s quite hilly, but I’m not complaining! The Toyon Trail was especially fun with its super narrow windy sections along the cliffside above Corte Madera Creek….

Woodside 35k Trail Run

Today I ran the 35k trail run at the Woodside event of the Pacific Coast Trail Runs (PCTR) series. The actual distance is 35.4k or 22 miles, with 2,990 feet of elevation gain. I was the first finisher in 2:38.45 and broke the previous course record by a nice margin (around 7:10 pace per mile)….

2008 Season Kickoff

Tomorrow I kick off the 2008 season with a race at Woodside (Huddart Park) tomorrow morning. I am going to be running the 35k (22 miles). You can probably tell from my blog that I run Huddart a lot so you can consider this my “homefield.” The trails are indeed gorgeous at Huddart and the…

Skyline Ridge Trail

Yesterday (Wednesday) I returned to Huddart and ran directly to the Skyline Ridge trail. I ran for 1:37 (~14 miles) and still did not make it to Wunderlich Park! I figure I was about 1.5 miles away. The trail was super fun as it winds around clinging to the steep hillside in the midst of…

Moody Road

Tuesday I ran the Moody Road Loop in Los Altos Hills. One section in the woods was especially muddy, but it was a pretty good run despite starting off a little sluggish (62 minutes, 10 miles). Wednesday I hope to run in the hills again.

Huddart and Skyline Ridge

Today I went out to Huddart Park for a delightful run! The weather was partly sunny and crisp – I even whipped out my running gloves! I did the usual route up to Skyline Blvd and then diverged off on the Bay Area Ridge Trail (aka Skyline Ridge trail, which connects Wunderlich and Huddart Parks)…

Wet and Cool

The weather in the Bay Area has been wet and cool the past few days and the soggy pattern looks to persist through the upcoming weekend. With temperatures in the mid-40’s, some of the hills above 2,000 feet even received 4-6 inches of slushy snow. I went on a run today (Thursday) in Los Altos…

Final Class List

I have finalized my schedule for my last semester in law school. I can’t believe this is my last class list – wow, time flies! It is a very random schedule, but it works: Partnership Taxation Advanced Legal Research Advanced Legal Writing – Drafting Contracts Minority Rights in Israel Independent Research in Corporate Lawyer Ethics…

Whistler, Baby!

Yesterday I returned from a four-day ski vacation in beautiful Whistler, Canada. We had three superb days of skiing, two at Whistler and one at Blackcomb. We hardly encountered any lines the entire time, weather conditions were gorgeous, and snow conditions were fantastic. From six foot cornice jumps to moguls to steep and deep, we…

Oh Canada!

Tomorrow early in the morning I head out with some friends to Whistler, Canada (British Columbia), the greatest ski resort in the world. This year the weather promises to be decent, the snow pack is healthy, and it’s an awesome crew coming out for the pilgrimage. I am pumped!!! 🙂 Dreaming of turns in powder…
