Rainy Saturday

See my post about Mount Olympus below. Most of it was written today.

It was another soaker in Western Washington. A trademark Seattle mist storm occurred in the morning and this afternoon it was just plain raining. There was a break in the middle of the day, but it still rained a lot and is still raining.

It seems like I spent most of my day figuring out how to get our painfully slow 56k dial-up connection updated to DSL or cable broadband. I got all the information and now it is up to my mom to "think about it." Hopefully I will be able to experience the internet again shortly.

For dinner I tried to emulate my sister's impeccable cooking by baking one of her tofu recipes. I think it was a success, but obviously not as good as hers. It was only my first try and it's a pretty tough one to screw up 😉

Tomorrow I need to decide if I want to go to Seattle REI and pick up some mountaineering boots (my old boots were destroyed in the Pickets last year). I am basically set on these boots and the distribution center ran out of my size (only my size – just my luck). The Seattle REI still has a pair but they don't ship in-store items to other stores. I would like to start my climbing season soon, so I am faced with the predicament of deciding whether to drive all the way to Seattle for some boots that are already overpriced.

Klahanie: I hit the gym for some chest and shoulder work. I did bench, dumbells, cross-overs. It was a decent workout. I need to get out and do some cardio tomorrow. Hopefully it will be nice enough to run outdoors, but I bet it will be muddy. On the other hand, I want to hike or climb something on Monday, so maybe not too hard on the cardio…

  1. Great new website Leor. I like the picture header and the color scheme. Very nice choices. I hope you get a nice climb in on Monday. Have fun! Don’t scare your mom too much though… 😉

  2. Glad to hear the tofu turned out decent. Ya, the sweater suits me.
I know you know you to spell BANANA too!!
Have a good day tomorrow. Talk to you later 🙂
