Yesterday I skied Stevens Pass and it was great. The snow conditions were good and the weather was fantastic with sunny skies for most of the day and no wind. The best part about the day was the fact that there were no lift lines. I was able to ski to my hearts content and because of that, I am quite sore this morning :). I started skiing at 9:30 and went till 3:45 with a 30 minute break at 1:45. On the whole, it was a great way to kick off my ski season. Stevens is a nice local mountain with some fun expert terrain. If the weather looks good sometime next week, I may jump out to the slopes one more time before my Whistler trip.
Details: Since it was my first day on skiing this winter season, I did three groomers to warm up and then hit Seventh Heaven for some steep and deep. I did Bobby and Nancy Chutes 4 times and then skied Rock Garden to Tye Mill and over to the backside. I did Corona Bowl and then had some fun below Southern Cross Chairlift with various lines on Polaris Bowl and Andromeda face. I skied that run at least 10 times and I was really tired by the end so I went to the lodge and took a break at 1:45. After a 30 minute break, I skied Double Diamond twice (the grand finale) and then closed out the day on Big Chief and Skyline Express with some fast and fun groomers.
