Alpental Skiing

Yesterday I went up to ski Alpental with my friend Colin. The skiing was fantastic with great conditions for late December, decent weather, and absolutely no lift lines – we literally skied onto the lift every time! The cold weather of late has also produced a lighter snow, which is rather atypical for the Snoqualmie Pass area. We skied hard all morning and afternoon and now I am sore. My new Atomic skis were awesome and handled the double diamond runs off Edelweiss chair masterfully!

My history at Alpental dates back to the first day I clicked into a pair of skis when I was five years old (18 years ago). The ski school was quite fun and we would often ski Alpental in the early years. Later we would go to the larger resorts (Crystal, Stevens Pass, Mt. Baker, Whistler) and the last time I skied Alpental was with my father 7 years ago. I remember runs like Schluct and International being steeper and scarier when I was a youngster learning at Alpental so I guess I have gotten a lot better and desensitized.
