Tamar!

Mother and Daughter

This morning at 2:24 am a new member of the family was born! My sister Karen gave birth to a beautiful girl – Tamar Adira Rasmussen. Tamar is a nice name that means “palm tree” in Hebrew. She weighed 6 pounds, 12 ounces. The birth was ten days overdue, but the pregnancy went smoothly. Karen was a real champ and completed the pregnancy naturally without any drugs to help with pain. She even returned home this afternoon, a half day after giving birth! My mother and I went to visit my sister Karen, Anthon, her husband and now father, and Tamar this afternoon for a couple hours. I got to hold a baby that was only 16 hours old – a first for me. She was so cute and she didn’t even cry while I was holding her πŸ™‚ I also got to play with Baron, their gorgeous jet-black German Shepard. My mom and I will definitely visit her in Maple Valley before I head off to school next Thursday.

Prior to visiting Tamar, I climbed Del Campo Peak along the Mountain Loop Highway. It was a good climb and I will provide photos and details in the coming days.

  1. Where is the picture?
By the way you held a 16 hour old baby, not 16 months. Are you sure you got the right weight for Tamar? She is tiny! πŸ™‚

    Okay talk to you later.
