Asilomar State Beach

Asilomar State Beach is a gorgeous mile-long strip of sandy beaches and rocky coves at the tip of the Monterey Peninsula in the town of Pacific Grove. There is a nice coastal walkway that traverses the rocky coves that provides access to the beaches. Fortunately, my sister lives in Pacific Grove so I have visited this gorgeous stretch of coastline many times, but every time it’s a treat. She is lucky to live steps away from such splendor! The backdrop of the Santa Cruz Mountains creates an enclosed feeling making Monterey Bay appear more like a large lake or inlet. From San Diego to Crescent City, the “golden coast” of California can’t be beat. The weather was perfect on a late fall visit so I decided to take some photos – here are my favorites. The complete album can be found here.
