North Fork Big Pine Fall Foliage

The eastern Sierra has some amazing displays of fall color. The season typically only lasts two to three weeks and it’s one of my favorite times to be in the Sierra. As promised, here are some photos of the awesome color on the North Fork Big Pine Creek. On the two prior occasions that I walked this stretch of trail I thought to myself that it would be great to come back in the fall when the aspens were firing. This year I finally got to experience this grove at the height of fall color. The afternoon lighting was perfect and there was a mix of yellow, orange and green. Taken together, it was a magical scene on the single track.
