Today I ran at Rancho San Antonio Open Space Preserve after work located just off Highway 280, 6 miles South of Page Mill Road. It was sweet! I’m glad the temperatures have cooled down making for some comfortable evening running. I ran up the Rogue Valley Trail to the Upper Rogue Valley Trail and then did the Upper High Meadow Trail to PG&E Trail, closing out with the lower Wildcat Canyon and Permanente Creek Trail. I’m not sure what the mileage total was, but it took me 65 minutes and involved a lot of elevation gain. The high point was over 1,400 feet with a starting elevation of around 400 feet. I saw many deer and there were many cars in the parking lot, but I saw few people on the trails I chose to run. I think most of the runners and walkers stay on the lower trails with less elevation gain. I can’t believe it has taken me this long to explore these parks, but the answer is really simple – I have a car down here now! I’ll definitely be back to Rancho San Antonio!
