More Phleger!

The Phleger Estate, a little known part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, is right in my backyard. Fortunately, the trails here are among my favorite! The lush redwood forest is always a treat, especially when the seasonal West Union Creek has flow and the redwood sorrel is robust, banana slugs are slithering along, and newts are crossing the trail! Wildlife is abundant with frequent sightings of deer, coyote, and bobcats. I feel lucky to have such beautiful nature so close. See my prior post for information on this park and a trail map here. I took some more photos on a recent hike:

More after the jump!

  1. Oh yes, Phleger is a great neck of the local woods. I love running there, any time of the day, no matter what the weather. I enjoyed a beautiful sunrise earlier this year. Beautiful photos, too!
