Mother and Daughter This morning at 2:24 am a new member of the family was born! My sister Karen gave birth to a beautiful girl – Tamar Adira Rasmussen. Tamar is a nice name that means “palm tree” in Hebrew. She weighed 6 pounds, 12 ounces. The birth was ten days overdue, but the pregnancy…

Action Shots!
Top story: My sister is at the birthing center and we are expecting her to give birth either late tonight or tomorrow morning. She is ten days overdue so it’s about time! We pray for a smooth and uncomplicated birth. Otherwise, I went to the gym this afternoon and worked mainly shoulders. Most of the…
Tiger Mountain & Eldorado Summit
This afternoon I picked myself up from the couch and climbed West Tiger Mountain #3 & #2. The thick cloud layer precluded climbs deeper in the mountains. I have probably climbed West Tiger #3 a half dozen times in my life, but have never ventured further (and there is over 80 miles of trail further!)….
Eldorado Ice Cap
More photos from the trip last Friday and Saturday: Close-up of Forbidden Peak from Inspiration Glacier Bjorn on the Inspiration Glacier with the Tepeh Towers and Klawatti Peak in the background. Dorado Needle & Eldorado TR!
I climbed 8,440 foot Dorado Needle and 8,868 foot Eldorado Peak on Friday and Saturday respectively. The weather was spectacular, the routes were in great shape, the bivy spot was awesome, and it was an all-around great time! The Eldorado Ice Cap area in North Cascades National Park never fails to produce memorable climbs. I…

Cool and Cloudy Seattle
Another cloudy and cool day in Seattle – the coolest corner of the United States right now! The sun actually broke through the clouds at about 5 pm so the evening was nice. Tomorrow is supposed to be warmer and Sunday warmer yet before another weather system moves in early next week for more clouds,…
Blackberries!
The blackberry season has begun at the Pantilat residence in Sammamish! I picked a bowl full of berries from the first wave of sweet and delicious berries. The peak of the season will probably start a week from now and last about 10 days. There are going to be a ton this year. There are…
Trail Running!
I got my first pair of trail running shoes today and I am pumped to use them! I have all kinds of regular running shoes, track spikes, road racers, and cross country flats sitting in my garage from my days running in college, but I have increasingly enjoyed running on trails. To lessen the impact…

With all kinds of time to spare the past few days, I decided to do some web development and create my initial mountain photography highlights page for the 2006 summer climbing season. Check out the link below! Mountain Photography Highlights 2006 In case you haven’t seen it already, the link to the 2005 edition is…
